Heliostat Control Proof of Concept
In 4 weeks Device Logic delivered a proof-of-concept system that demonstrated that the control of our customer’s mirrors was possible.
The short timeframe for delivery ensured that our customer was able to hit key contractual milestones, despite involving us later in the project than usual.

This timeframe included the development of a new communications protocol and extensive consultation on the power and network topology of the demonstration plants.
New Hardware
Designed, prototyped and programmed in 4 weeks the hardware was manufactured and installed just 4 weeks later.
Design Constraints:
- Small manufacturing run (400 units)
- Must use components in stock due to time constraints
- Must be hand made due to lack of tooling time
- Through hole production only for field serviceability
- Must fit in existing enclosures
New SCADA
The customer’s existing SCADA was overhauled as fast as possible to meet the required functionality goals of the demonstration system.
This system has since been obsoleted and replaced with a ground-up rewrite.
Customer Milestones
The successful completion of this project enabled the customer to achieve their milestones with their end customer.
